About
The University of Maryland is a leading public research university with a strong global reputation in quantum science and technology. Quantum research at UMD is led by the Department of Physics, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Department of Computer Science & the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Major quantum centers include the Joint Quantum Institute, the Joint Center for Quantum Information & Computer Science, the Quantum Technology Center & the Quantum Materials Center. The university also works closely with federal and industry partners to advance quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum materials research.
