Job Title: Lead Facilities Maintenance Mechanic - 837. Location: Broomfield, Colorado, USA
Job Type: Full-time, On-site
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily facility maintenance operations and assigned work orders.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to maintenance staff and contractors.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Operate and maintain building automation systems (such as Honeywell EBI, Carrier i-Vu, or equivalent);
- Monitor and maintain environmental conditions including temperature and humidity in laboratory and production areas.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities to reduce downtime and improve equipment lifespan.
- Support facility upgrades, renovations, installations, and contractor-led projects.
- Manage external contractors, ensuring compliance with safety, scheduling, and operational standards.
- Conduct contractor onboarding, safety orientations, and site inspections.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues, alarms, and operational disruptions;
- Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours facility support.
- Maintain accurate records for work orders, inspections, equipment, and maintenance logs.
- Support inventory management of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for facility reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of facilities maintenance experience in commercial, industrial, laboratory, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals;
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities;
- Familiarity with contractor coordination and safety management.
- Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
Preferred:
- Technical school, trade certification, or associate degree in Facilities Maintenance, HVAC, Electrical, or related field.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience.
- Experience with building automation and environmental monitoring systems.
- OSHA certifications (10 or 30), EPA Universal Certification, HVAC or electrical/mechanical licenses.
- Forklift or aerial lift certification;
- Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and OSHA compliance.
