Director, Solutions Architecture - Quantum

Job Description

Job Title: Director, Solutions Architecture – Quantum. Location: US Remote (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coach the Solutions Architecture team, including goal setting, performance management, and professional development.
• Oversee the portfolio of strategic customer accounts and partner with Strategic Account Executives on account planning and execution.
• Act as the primary technical leader for select accounts and ensure technical rigor across all solution designs, scopes, and proposals.
• Manage team-level reporting, including project status, pipeline visibility, and resource allocation;
• Use industry experience to identify customer challenges suited for quantum solutions and align them with Quantinuum’s research strengths.
• Guide and approve project scopes, preparing clear and structured proposals for customers.
• Provide market feedback to research team leaders to ensure alignment of research roadmaps with industry needs.
• Maintain a catalogue of industry-relevant use cases to support both customer engagement and internal research planning.
• Oversee creation of high-quality technical and commercial materials for customer discussions;
• Stay current on advances in quantum technology and industry trends, maintaining expertise in relevant use cases and successes.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree minimum in a relevant field.
• Minimum 8+ years in industrial research programs within industry.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. Government requirements.
• Experience managing technical teams or direct reports in a customer-facing environment (2+ years preferred).
• Significant experience in managing customer relationships and delivering technically complex projects.
• Strong ability to translate business objectives into technical execution;
• Executive-level communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Preferred:

• PhD in quantum computing, physics, or a related field.
• Experience working with or exposure to quantum technologies.
• Comfortable partnering with sales while maintaining independent technical judgment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence without formal authority.

• Salary range: $200,000 – $250,000 annually (includes bonus target if applicable).
