Job Description
Job Title: Senior Photonics Automation Engineer. Location: Palo Alto, California, USA
Responsibilities:
- Define automation program specifications, testing strategies, and development plans.
- Design, develop, and maintain software platforms for wafer-level and die-level photonic testing.
- Collaborate with external vendors to develop new testing applications and capabilities.
- Develop and enhance parallel and asynchronous testing infrastructure for high-throughput validation.
- Optimize existing automation and testing tools to improve efficiency and reliability;
- Work closely with data engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver integrated testing solutions.
- Support automated functional and circuit-level testing for advanced photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
- Improve software performance, scalability, and maintainability for production testing environments.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in photonic test automation processes.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with Python programming and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience with wafer-level testing systems and test automation.
- Experience developing parallel and asynchronous testing applications;
- Knowledge of photonic integrated circuit (PIC) testing and optical switch testing systems.
- Strong problem-solving and software development skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with high-speed RF testing equipment and network analyzers.
- Experience working with databases and large-scale data systems.
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and photonic device testing.
- Experience optimizing automated production test environments.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Base salary (U.S.): $115,000 to $150,000 USD.
- Bay Area salary range: $150,000 to $175,000 USD.
- Full-time employees are eligible for equity and a comprehensive benefits package;
- Compensation is based on education, experience, technical skills, geographic location, and business requirements.
