Principal, Solutions Architect

Job Description

Job Title: Principal Solutions Architect. Location: San Francisco, California, USA

Job Type: Full-Time, Senior Level, Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and build large-scale cloud network architectures.
  • Architect networking systems for large-scale web and mobile applications using cloud-native and microservices-based structures.
  • Produce technical whitepapers, blogs, architecture diagrams, and customer-facing documentation for AWS cloud networking solutions.
  • Develop best practices for designing and operating resilient, observable, and secure cloud networks;
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable cloud networking solutions and influence product roadmap decisions.
  • Design enhancements for hyperscale networking systems addressing IPv6 migration, IPv4 exhaustion, terabit-scale throughput, and future encrypted networking challenges.
  • Train and mentor peers and customers on advanced cloud networking concepts and architecture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in relevant technical roles.
  • Strong expertise in at least one domain: software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data and analytics.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale networks;
  • Strong knowledge of network virtualization and software-defined networking.
  • Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 protocols and standards.
  • Experience with Layer 2 networking technologies, including MPLS and Ethernet.
  • Experience with routing protocols and large-scale network design.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in hyperscale or cloud networking environments.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience influencing product strategy and roadmap development.
  • Ability to work across engineering and business teams in complex environments.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Salary range: $210,200 to $284,300 per year.
  • Potential additional compensation including equity and sign-on bonuses.
