Amazon is building the future of quantum computing through AWS Braket, & major research investments in scalable quantum technologies.

About

Amazon’s AWS Braket platform gives users access to real quantum computers and powerful simulators through the cloud. It features IonQ, Rigetti, and D-Wave equipment, enabling developers to evaluate quantum algorithms on gate-based and annealing systems. Since its release in 2020, Braket has been leveraged by thousands of researchers in fields such as finance, logistics, and chemistry. Also, with support for open-source frameworks and SDKs, teams can use quantum computing without the burden of physical hardware.

At the same time, Amazon has been actively investing in mid to long term research initiatives. The AWS Center for Quantum Computing located at Caltech focuses on building a fault tolerant quantum computer using superconducting qubits. Additionally, the Amazon Quantum Solutions Lab assists businesses in exploring quantum application development in the enterprise domain under expert guidance. As reported by AWS, more than 300 enterprise and research teams have so far participated in Braket projects, indicating an emerging interest in practical quantum tools. Amazon’s strategy blends cloud resources with hardware innovation and cutting edge applied research to make quantum computing widely accessible.
