Job Description
Job Title: Project Engineering Intern (Program Management Technical Intern) – 783. Location: Broomfield, Colorado, USA
Responsibilities:
- Support cross-functional quantum hardware programs by coordinating work across scientists, engineers, and project teams
- Track tasks, deliverables, and schedules to keep research and development activities organized
- Maintain structured technical documentation including notes from builds, experiments, and meetings
- Assist program managers with planning, scheduling, monitoring, and process improvements
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers on quantum hardware integration efforts;
- Support creation and implementation of project management tools and solutions for technical teams
- Provide hands-on support for hardware builds, experiments, and debugging activities when needed
- Own a defined project that results in a final technical and business presentation
- Ensure clear communication of progress, findings, and documentation across teams
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program
- At least 1 year of hardware laboratory experience, including academic coursework;
- Strong interest in quantum computing, physics, optics, engineering, or related technical fields
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary technical environment
Preferred:
- Degree focus in physics, optics, engineering, or related discipline
- Graduation expected between December 2026 and June 2027
- Hands-on experience in hardware laboratory environments;
- Interest in quantum computing and project management practices
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills in research settings
Benefits and Compensation:
- Hourly pay range: 27 to 36 USD per hour, based on experience and qualifications
- Housing stipend of 500 USD per pay period for eligible candidates outside the local area
