Job Title: RF/Microwave Researcher. Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, United States
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of advanced, high-performance circuits and subsystems for quantum computing systems.
- Design and integrate microwave components, including quantum-limited and low-noise amplifiers and isolators used in superconducting qubit readout chains.
- Contribute to the development of novel superconducting qubit measurement systems.
- Develop and communicate technical ideas through strong written and presentation skills;
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams involving both technical and operational personnel.
- Work independently, take initiative, and contribute effectively to team objectives.
- Support IBM Research efforts toward practical and large-scale quantum computing.
- Contribute to research combining quantum computing with high-performance computing, AI, and hybrid cloud technologies.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of RF and microwave filter design, including:
- Notch filters
- Bandpass filters
- Diplexers
- Strong expertise in electromagnetic modeling, circuit design, and layout tools, including:
- Keysight ADS
- EMPro
- Ansys HFSS
- Cadence/Clarity
- COMSOL
- Familiarity with test equipment such as vector network analyzers.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and technical presentation skills;
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multidisciplinary research environment.
Preferred:
- Doctorate degree preferred.
- Familiarity with superconducting parametric amplifiers or related devices.
- Familiarity with trilayer Josephson junction devices or similarly complex device architectures.
- Prior experience working as part of large research or engineering collaborations.

- Projected annual salary range of $160,130 to $218,000.
