Job Title: Technical Marketing Associate - IBM Quantum. Location: New York, NY, USA
Job Type: Entry Level (Hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Create technical content for researchers and developers, explaining IBM Quantum systems, software, research breakthroughs, and use cases.
- Produce blogs, tutorials, technical briefs, and research explainers that are accurate, accessible, and scientifically grounded.
- Collaborate with technical teams including quantum researchers, systems engineers, Qiskit developers, product management, and developer relations to build presentations, demos, videos, and technical collateral;
- Support IBM Quantum advocacy and storytelling by communicating technical leadership to academic researchers, developers, and practitioner audiences.
- Assist with content for academic collaborations, industry partnerships, and community engagement initiatives;
- Enable sales and field teams with technical slides, one-pagers, and training content. Incorporate feedback to improve technical clarity and relevance.
- Contribute technical content aligned with system releases, roadmap milestones, and scientific announcements.
- Monitor competitors, research trends, and ecosystem developments to inform messaging and positioning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Quantum Information Science.
- 0–3 years of experience in technical communications, research, software development, product marketing, or related technical roles (including internships, academic research, or open-source contributions);
- Foundational understanding of quantum computing concepts such as quantum circuits, basic quantum algorithms, error mitigation, and hardware/software stacks (e.g., Qiskit).
- Ability to quickly learn emerging scientific and computing technologies.
- Experience creating presentations in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides.
- Comfortable presenting technical material to internal teams and external technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple content projects.
Preferred:
- Experience working with academic researchers, scientific publications, or technical communities.
- Familiarity with scientific publishing, conferences, and peer-reviewed research workflows;
- Experience with open-source communities or developer advocacy in deep-tech domains.
- Exposure to high-performance computing or related research environments.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Projected salary: $62,000–$107,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and location.
