Data Software Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Data Software Engineer. Location: Palo Alto, California, United States. Job Type: Full-Time, Mid-Level (3+ years experience)

Responsibilities:

• Extend database models, backend frameworks, and REST APIs for scalable data system integration.
• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for processing and transforming data from multiple sources.
• Support, troubleshoot, and improve existing data integration systems and reporting infrastructure.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for production systems;
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and research teams to design and deploy new features.
• Perform root cause analysis, code reviews, and unit testing with team members.
• Assist engineers and managers with data queries, feature development, and bug resolution.
• Provide timely support and issue resolution for internal users and systems;
• Apply strong analytical thinking and decision-making to improve system reliability and performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, especially scalable application development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with data modeling and database design principles;
• Experience building data-intensive applications using frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Dash, or JMP.
• Experience with web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows;
• Experience with ETL pipelines and data ingestion systems.
• Strong debugging, testing, and documentation practices.

Preferred:

• Experience with semiconductor testing or data-driven semiconductor applications.
• Strong Python scientific computing skills (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Jupyter).
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base salary range: $130,000 to $165,000 depending on location and experience.
