Job Title: Director of IT Enterprise Architecture. Location: Broomfield, CO, USA

Job Type: Full-Time, Hybrid (up to 2 days remote per week)

Responsibilities:

• Lead and own Quantinuum’s IT architecture standards, governance, and technology roadmaps.
• Translate business objectives into actionable IT architecture strategies, roadmaps, and investment recommendations.
• Facilitate executive-level discussions on tradeoffs in cost, risk, scalability, and speed.
• Build business cases and communicate value in business terms for IT initiatives;
• Assess current IT architecture and operating patterns; define and execute plans to improve maturity, reduce complexity, and increase reliability.
• Rationalize IT technology footprint across platforms, tools, and integrations.
• Partner with IT leaders to improve intake/prioritization, architectural standards, change governance, and lifecycle management.
• Define and maintain enterprise architectural direction for AI/ML, data platforms, and GPU-accelerated compute workloads.
• Develop reference architectures for AI enablement, including data pipelines, model lifecycle management, governance, security, and platform integration.
• Evaluate cloud, on-premises, and hybrid architectures to balance performance, cost, scalability, resilience, and compliance.
• Lead architecture reviews, ensure compliance with standards, identify risks, and propose alternatives;
• Provide consulting, leadership, and guidance to Solution/Domain/Technology Architects and delivery teams.
• Coach teams in lean/agile practices to ensure high-quality solutions aligned with strategic architecture.
• Maintain an Enterprise Architecture repository and communicate architectural decisions to C-level stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or related field (Master’s or equivalent preferred).
• Minimum 10+ years leading enterprise-level IT architecture and software development.
• Experience supporting AI/ML-enabled solutions and data-intensive platforms;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with and influence executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Broad expertise in enterprise applications, platforms, systems integration, infrastructure, and security.
• Knowledge of private/public cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Azure;
• Proficiency in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and prescriptive architectural patterns.
• Strong financial acumen to review estimates, budgets, and translate architecture into investment tradeoffs.

Preferred:

• Experience with SaaS/COTS platforms (Salesforce, Microsoft, ServiceNow, SAP).
• Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, cloud architecture, or security.
• Proven ability to drive IT maturity uplift, standardization, and governance.
• Strong systems thinking skills to link complex components and guide teams through change.
• Ability to document procedures, workflows, and improve operational support.

• Annual salary: $224,000 – $280,000, inclusive of bonus targets, depending on experience and qualifications.
