Job Description
Job Title: Electrical Engineer - PL. Location: Brooklyn Park, MN or Plymouth, MN, USA (Hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with design and fabrication scientists to create mask layouts for next-generation ion traps.
- Design IC and MEMS layouts using industry best practices and ensure manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to produce high-quality layout designs;
- Work with semiconductor foundries to ensure layouts and tape-outs comply with Process Design Kits (PDKs) and fabrication requirements.
- Support the complete layout process from initial concept through tape-out.
- Contribute to the development of advanced quantum computing hardware.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with IC or MEMS layout using Cadence Virtuoso from concept through tape-out.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident/green card holder, or an individual granted asylum or refugee status);
- Must satisfy U.S. national security requirements. Candidates who are nationals of the People's Republic of China or Russia are not eligible unless they are also U.S. citizens.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- At least 5 years of experience with integrated circuit layout and simulation using Cadence Virtuoso, including working with Process Design Kits (PDKs).
- Experience completing tape-outs and delivering layouts to mask shops.
- Experience designing masks for external semiconductor foundries.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems;
- Familiarity with SKILL scripting language.
- At least 2 years of experience with MEMS layout tools such as Tanner L-Edit, K-Layout, or similar software.
- Experience designing photonic components.
- Familiarity with auto-routing techniques for IC layout.
- Experience working in cross-functional research and development teams.
