Job Title: Senior Full Stack Software Engineer [510]. Location: New Haven, CT, USA
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product managers, scientists, and engineers to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and software solutions.
- Architect and build efficient, reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems from concept through production.
- Design and develop tooling and core software required for the development and operation of quantum processors.
- Build core platform infrastructure and backend services that enable reliable access to D-Wave's gate-model quantum computers.
- Develop user-facing features and interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
- Design and implement user interfaces using frameworks such as Vue.js or React.
- Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code;
- Participate in code reviews and help maintain high standards for software quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug technical issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement effective solutions.
- Optimize system performance and improve the overall user experience.
- Work across the full software stack on highly visible projects that support D-Wave's quantum computing products.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Contribute to automated, scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems.
- Collaborate effectively across a fast-paced, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on full-stack software development experience.
- Strong experience with Python.
- Experience with another high-level programming language such as Go, C++, or Java.
- Proficiency with front-end technologies and modern frameworks such as Vue.js or React.
- Competence with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- Strong knowledge of database systems and SQL;
- Hands-on experience designing, optimizing, and maintaining relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Git version control, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of software testing principles, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience developing and working with RESTful APIs.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to document and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Base salary range of $125,000 to $187,000 USD per year for the New Haven location.
