Job Description
Job Title: Head of Quantum Instrumentation. Location: Los Angeles, On-site
We are seeking an experienced physicist to lead our quantum instrumentation program, focusing on magneto sensitivity in biology — a phenomenon linked to quantum sensing with electron spins; The aim is to determine whether quantum-to-biology links can be scientifically validated.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain advanced optical and electronic quantum instrumentation tailored for sensitive biological compounds and cells.
- Develop and implement experimental control software to operate and optimize instrumentation;
- Lead collaborations with physicists, engineers, biologists, and chemists to integrate quantum measurement and control methods into cellular research.
- Contribute to the Institute’s publicly available scientific roadmap and research goals.
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in quantum optics and optical instrumentation development.
- Strong programming experience in Python for instrument control;
- Research background in atomic and molecular physics, quantum computing, or quantum sensing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary research projects.
