Job Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer, Spacecraft. Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States
Job Type: Full-Time (On-site with partial remote flexibility)
Responsibilities:
- Own execution of spacecraft assembly and integration activities, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements, quality standards, and production schedules.
- Develop detailed work instructions and manufacturing processes to improve yield and reduce cycle time.
- Lead investigation and root cause analysis of non-conformances and implement corrective actions;
- Design and develop large-scale ground support equipment (GSE) for spacecraft manufacturing and integration.
- Review engineering models and drawings to ensure manufacturability and design compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) improvements to reduce defects and improve production efficiency.
- Work with supply chain teams to improve first-pass yield of materials and components;
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across spacecraft production workflows.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in spacecraft manufacturing or complex electro-mechanical aerospace systems.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing and testing environments.
- Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards;
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
- Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills in manufacturing and production environments.
Preferred:
- Experience with spacecraft or satellite integration and assembly.
- Background in aerospace manufacturing processes and systems engineering.
- Experience in design for manufacturability (DFM) practices;
- Familiarity with supplier quality improvement and production yield optimization.
- Strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems used in space environments.
