Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Research Scientist, Pathfinding. Location: Goleta, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Mountain View, CA; San Francisco, CA
Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop promising applications for quantum processors.
- Design and implement optimized quantum algorithms for quantum dynamics simulations.
- Evaluate the classical computational cost of quantum algorithms and analyze quantum simulation results;
- Collaborate on experimental-theoretical projects to test and refine error-mitigation strategies and fault-tolerant methods;
- Contribute to the global quantum research community through publications and collaborations with academic and industrial partners.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Quantum Information Science, or a related field;
- Proven research experience demonstrated by at least three scientific publications in quantum computing, simulation, or many-body physics.
- Experience developing and applying numerical methods for quantum phenomena.
Preferred:
- Background in quantum systems research, such as quantum chemistry or open quantum systems.
- Familiarity with quantum error correction and fault tolerance;
- Programming experience in Python or C++
- Experience with large-scale classical simulations of quantum systems.
Benefits / Additional:
- Competitive base salary: $166,000–$244,000 (dependent on location and experience).
- Additional compensation includes equity, bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.

- Applicants in Los Angeles County will be considered in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act.
