Job Description
Job Title: Software Engineer, CUDA-Q/. Location: US (CA, WA) – Remote
NVIDIA’s Quantum Computing team is seeking a talented software engineer to help build the CUDA-Q platform for hybrid quantum-classical multi-processor systems; This role focuses on developing an extensible toolchain and distributed systems, contributing directly to the future of quantum computing software.
Responsibilities:
- Develop core infrastructure for inter-device communication and multi-processor execution.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, and team members to integrate quantum architecture-specific components.
- Solve complex challenges at the intersection of compilers, high-performance computing (HPC), and quantum computing.
- Discuss and refine software designs and implementation strategies with peers;
- Improve development processes and infrastructure to accelerate team productivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, or a related engineering field (Master’s or PhD preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale software projects.
- Proven ability to build performant and robust production software;
- Strong understanding of multi-processor systems, performance profiling, and compiler fundamentals.
- Eagerness to learn new domains and rapidly develop expertise.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- Knowledge of quantum computing hardware and control systems.
- Experience implementing optimization and code generation for quantum computing architectures.
- Understanding of quantum error correction;
- Expertise with compiler toolchains, particularly LLVM/MLIR.
- Proficiency in GPU or FPGA programming.
- Passion for system design and improving software extensibility.
