Job Title: Software Engineer II. Location: Redmond, Washington, USA

Job Type: Full-Time (Hybrid, 3 days/week in-office)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and secure core Azure infrastructure and cloud platform services.
• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and reliable web services running on Azure.
• Contribute to Microsoft's confidential computing initiatives and post-quantum security platform.
• Design and implement new service capabilities and technical solutions.
• Build intuitive and responsive experiences for developers and customers;
• Ensure high quality, reliability, and performance of engineering systems and features.
• Collaborate with Azure product teams and partner organizations to deliver integrated cloud solutions.
• Mentor software engineers and promote engineering excellence within the team.
• Develop and execute technical strategies for new platform capabilities.
• Apply Microsoft's engineering principles and values while collaborating across teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience programming in one or more of the following languages:
  • C
  • C++
  • C#
  • Java
  • JavaScript
  • Python
• Ability to satisfy Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements.
• Successfully complete the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hiring and every two years thereafter.

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Four or more years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of experience building cloud services that use SQL as the storage platform.
• Experience designing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and distributed systems;
• Familiarity with confidential computing and cloud security technologies.
• Knowledge of post-quantum cryptography concepts is considered beneficial.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base salary:
  • U.S. locations: $102,100 to $202,200 per year.
  • San Francisco Bay Area and New York City: $133,800 to $219,200 per year.
• Eligible roles may receive additional compensation and employee benefits.
• Hybrid work arrangement requiring three in-office days each week.
• Travel requirement of less than 25%.
• Opportunities to work on large-scale Azure security infrastructure serving customers worldwide.
