AI-Native Security Research Intern 2027

Job Description

Job Title: AI-Native Security Research Intern 2027. Location: Yorktown Heights, NY, USA

Job Type: Internship, Co-op (Fixed Term), On-site

Responsibilities:

  • Design systems that address emerging security risks associated with AI agents and agentic applications.
  • Develop proof-of-concept implementations for security tools and systems.
  • Conduct experiments and evaluations of security systems and techniques.
  • Analyze experimental and other relevant data;
  • Design, implement, and evaluate state-of-the-art tools and systems for securing AI agents.
  • Investigate vulnerabilities and contribute to vulnerability discovery and analysis.
  • Work on system hardening and approaches that provide strong security guarantees.
  • Communicate technical ideas, research findings, and results to colleagues.
  • Collaborate with research scientists, engineers, and other multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Rust, or Go.
  • Experience building, debugging, and testing software systems.
  • Knowledge of systems security and software security;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience with AI agents and agentic software development.
  • Experience designing, conducting, and evaluating experiments.
  • Knowledge of access control and language-based security concepts.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and operating system concepts.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Projected compensation range of $89,280 to $163,680 per year based on a full-time annual schedule. Compensation for this internship may be adjusted according to the applicable employment schedule.
  • Supplemental employees may be eligible for up to 8 paid holidays.
  • Minimum of 56 hours of paid sick time.
