Software Integration Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Software Integration Engineer. Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on integrating fast-evolving headquarters software into real-world lab and flight environments; The position supports defense and aerospace programs and operates at the intersection of software, hardware, and field systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Own deployment and configuration of navigation and quantum sensing software on UAS platforms
  • Align field deployments with rapidly evolving HQ software releases
  • Bring up and verify complete sensor, driver, transport, and navigation stacks before lab and flight testing

Testing and Field Operations

  • Act as the on-site software lead during field trials
  • Diagnose and resolve software and system-level issues;
  • Retrieve, validate, and organize lab and flight test data for HQ teams
  • Support hardware-in-the-loop testing and fielded system validation
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required

Collaboration and Process Improvement

  • Work closely with systems engineers, hardware engineers, and HQ software teams
  • Close integration gaps between hardware and software
  • Improve deployment workflows, CI/CD processes, and testing pipelines for hardware-integrated software
  • Perform additional duties aligned with skills and experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field
  • Experience deploying and operating software on Linux-based embedded, robotics, or UAS platforms
  • Experience with numerical software or algorithm development related to inertial navigation, state estimation, data fusion, or optimization
  • Proficiency in systems programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, and Python
  • Experience setting up and maintaining continuous integration systems
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices for hardware-integrated systems;
  • Experience working with sensor drivers, middleware, and data transport layers
  • Ability to collaborate across software, hardware, systems, and research teams

Preferred:

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, autonomy, robotics, or navigation systems
