Software Security Engineer – Data Systems

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Systems Software Security Engineer – Data Center Systems. Location: United States, Colorado (Remote)

You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to design, implement and deploy secure system software and firmware.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver security features for NVIDIA data center systems.
• Secure system boot, recovery, attestation, and out-of-band management using Root of Trust principles.
• Develop and maintain security firmware for enterprise-grade servers;
• Implement security solutions following industry standards such as OpenBMC, UEFI, TCG DICE, SPDM, PLDM, Redfish, NIST SP800-193, and CNSA 2.0.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to deploy security systems at scale.
• Support end-to-end delivery of data center servers from design to customer deployment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in software or firmware security engineering.
• Strong understanding of security fundamentals and best practices;
• Experience with threat modeling, unit testing, incident response, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python, scripting, and system-level programming.
• Solid knowledge of modern server architectures;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote and collaborative environment.

Preferred:

• Deep understanding of data center server architectures and GPU deployment models such as AI clusters, HPC systems, and multi-GPU servers.
• Experience with modern data center networking architectures.
• Contributions to open-source security projects or industry standards;
• Experience with data center firmware and software management systems.
• Strong understanding of post-quantum cryptography and its transition challenges.
• Experience with Linux and application security.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary range:
  • Level 3: USD 148,000 to 235,750
  • Level 4: USD 184,000 to 287,500
• Salary is based on location, experience, and role level.
