Job Description

Job Title: Director, Optimization Solutions. Location: Remote, United States

This role involves working closely with internal teams and external customers to translate complex business challenges into hybrid quantum solutions; The director will architect the next-generation Optimization Solutions Framework, helping accelerate and standardize how D-Wave delivers customer value.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategy and design of a scalable Optimization Solutions Framework with repeatable methodologies.
• Collaborate with Professional Services, Product and Engineering, Sales, and other teams to align priorities.
• Translate customer insights into actionable feedback for product and tool development.
• Deliver presentations and technical content tailored to diverse audiences;
• Partner with customers to design, prototype, and deploy optimization solutions using D-Wave’s quantum systems.
• Guide customer projects from concept through production, ensuring quality, timeliness, and measurable business value.
• Conduct design sessions to gather requirements, model use cases, and build hybrid quantum applications.
• Foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or related field, with 10+ years of experience.
• Strong track record in working with external customers to identify requirements and design solutions.
• Expertise in mathematical modeling and advanced optimization techniques with proven real-world applications.
• Experience in guiding full-lifecycle projects from problem definition to production deployment;
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and NetworkX.
• Strong project delivery skills, with history of on-time and high-quality execution.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
