Job Description
Job Title: Manager, Quantum Systems Validation. Location: Milpitas, California, USA
Responsibilities:
- Manage the validation team responsible for quantum subsystem validation, including technical oversight, project management, talent management, performance evaluations, and coaching.
- Develop validation and verification plans and execute them within demanding development schedules.
- Plan and execute system integration testing across hardware, firmware, and software.
- Identify and debug issues at the appropriate level of integration before full subsystem testing;
- Lead the definition and documentation of quantum and semi-classical calibration, self-test, and diagnostic functions.
- Define and validate quantum tests at intermediate points in the quantum computer to verify that generated photonic quantum states meet system requirements.
- Lead the assessment of subsystem performance while operating within a larger quantum computing system.
- Provide cross-functional support to engineering teams on design-for-test requirements, calibration requirements, data acquisition and processing requirements, performance data, and debugging.
- Support validation of integrated photonic, optical, cryogenic, electronic, electro-optical, firmware, and software components.
- Develop and apply quantum characterization, verification, and validation techniques for photonic qubit states.
- Work effectively with teams across departments, sites, and time zones.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects involving integration of optical and electronic hardware, firmware, software, and data infrastructure.
- Experience with some or all of the following:
- Quantum optics.
- Single-photon generation and detection.
- Quantum characterization, verification, and validation.
- Integrated silicon photonics.
- Mixed-signal, analog, and RF electronics design and testing.
- Electro-optical device design and testing.
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute complex experiments or engineering tests in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across departments, locations, and time zones;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with senior leadership and technical experts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Interest in PsiQuantum's mission and vision for practical, fault-tolerant quantum computing.

- Estimated annual base salary:
- Zone 1, Bay Area and NYC: $182,200 to $214,100
- Zone 2, including Los Angeles and Washington DC: $164,000 to $192,700
- Zone 3, including Austin, Chicago, and Sacramento: $145,800 to $171,300
- Zone 4, including Nashville, Phoenix/Tempe, and many remote locations: $127,600 to $149,900
