Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Lab Engineer. Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, USA
Responsibilities:
- Work with a large team of IBM research scientists and hardware developers to test superconducting qubit devices.
- Support efforts to improve the efficiency and consistency of the quantum processor development team.
- Measure and characterize microwave devices.
- Operate software-controlled laboratory scientific equipment.
- Support testing and development activities for superconducting quantum hardware;
- Contribute to laboratory test infrastructure and measurement workflows.
- Collaborate with research scientists, engineers, and other technical team members.
- Work independently, take initiative, and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience measuring microwave devices.
- Experience with software control of laboratory scientific equipment;
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational personnel.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse and dynamic team.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience measuring superconducting qubit devices.
- Experience with cryostat operation and maintenance.
- Experience modifying and maintaining software test infrastructure.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Projected salary range of $85,000 to $160,000 per year for a full-time position, depending on job-related skills, experience, and location.
