As a Quantum Life Sciences Chemist, you will work at the intersection of quantum computing, computational chemistry, and biology. Your work will help pioneer novel approaches in drug design, biomolecular modeling, and simulation of complex biological systems using quantum-enhanced workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead research efforts in quantum-informed biomolecular modeling, drug discovery, and life sciences workflows.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate fault-tolerant quantum computing outputs into conventional life science simulation tools.
  • Design computational workflows that combine high-performance computing (HPC) with quantum algorithms;
  • Stay updated on emerging literature and trends in computational chemistry, quantum chemistry, and biomolecular modeling.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with partners and customers for joint research and application development;
  • Contribute to scientific communications and outreach supporting quantum-enabled innovations in pharma and biotech.
  • Participate in collaborative projects, grant proposals, and external scientific partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in computational chemistry, biophysics, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • 0–6 years of post-PhD experience (academic or industry).
  • Strong hands-on experience with biomolecular modeling, protein-ligand interactions, and biological system simulations.
  • Expert-level Python programming skills and use of relevant scientific libraries;
  • Demonstrated ability to read and apply cutting-edge scientific research.
  • Experience developing and applying computational models and workflows.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with quantum chemistry methods (e.g., DFT, coupled cluster theory).
  • Experience with free energy perturbation, molecular docking, or ML techniques in life sciences.
  • Hands-on exposure to GPU-accelerated simulations or hybrid quantum-classical methods (e.g., QM/MM).
  • Knowledge of quantum embedding methods and fault-tolerant quantum computing concepts;
  • Experience with scientific software development (Python, C++, or Fortran).
  • Scientific publication record or demonstrated collaboration with industry partners.

Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range (U.S.): $140,000 – $175,000
  • Equity participation and a comprehensive benefits package available.
  • Opportunities for remote work, especially within the United States;
  • Access to cutting-edge quantum research and collaborations across academia and government programs.
