Solutions Architect - Optimization

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Solutions Architect - Optimization – U.S. Government (US). Location: Remote, United States

In this role, you will collaborate with customers, delivery leads, and developers to solve complex business problems using D-Wave’s hybrid solvers and advanced quantum systems; You will design, prototype, and deploy applications while ensuring measurable business value for customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Build customer applications on D-Wave’s quantum systems and internal tools
  • Lead delivery of quantum optimization projects, ensuring business value and on-time execution
  • Collaborate with customers to define problems, gather requirements, and propose solutions;
  • Model use cases mathematically and design hybrid quantum-classical optimization applications
  • Communicate technical capabilities clearly and effectively to customer stakeholders
  • Share insights with internal product teams to shape new features and tools;
  • Present technical information in a clear, structured way
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance (mandatory);
  • 5+ years of experience with Python, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and NetworkX
  • Strong expertise in optimization tools such as CPLEX or Gurobi
  • Proven experience in customer-facing consulting roles, delivering technical solutions to complex business problems
  • Strong background in mathematical modeling and optimization methods
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git;
  • Track record of building and deploying production-level applications
  • Leadership experience from solution design to implementation
  • Familiarity with industries such as manufacturing, logistics, retail, or services is a plus

  • Salary range: $124,000 – $186,000 USD annually
