Software Engineer, CUDA-Q Libraries

Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer, CUDA-Q Libraries. Location: US, Remote (also CA, TX, MA, WA)

You will develop tools and libraries to advance quantum computing applications, focusing on quantum error correction, real-time algorithm implementation, and AI-based solutions; This role is ideal for engineers passionate about software, high-performance computing, and quantum technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop analysis libraries and tools to characterize quantum error correction (QEC) codes and parameters for various quantum applications.
  • Identify, implement, and productize AI and algorithmic real-time decoding algorithms in collaboration with NVIDIA’s Applied Research team.
  • Contribute to CUDA-Q library development, including building AI training infrastructure for QEC libraries;
  • Develop real-time hardware and software interfaces for heterogeneous quantum-classical computing.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines for existing and new products to ensure high quality;
  • Benchmark and optimize workflows for researchers and partners.
  • Enhance processes and infrastructure to accelerate development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Physics, or related engineering field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming;
  • Experience implementing algorithms on heterogeneous systems (CPU, GPU, FPGA).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new domains and master new challenges.

Preferred:

  • Experience with quantum computing hardware and control systems.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with Quantum Error Correction.
  • Proven history of software optimization for real-time systems;
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins).
