Technical Lead Manager, Product Software

Job Description

Job Title: Technical Lead Manager, Product Software, Quantum AI. Location: Seattle, WA, USA; Goleta, CA, USA

Job Type: Full-Time, Senior Level, Hybrid/Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of customer-facing software tools for Quantum AI hardware systems.
  • Build and maintain APIs, client libraries, CLI tools, and web interfaces for managing quantum processors and workloads.
  • Define technical direction, scope problems, and design scalable solutions across multi-quarter projects.
  • Contribute directly to coding, system design, optimization, and performance improvements.
  • Review and enforce engineering best practices across teams;
  • Evaluate when to enhance existing systems versus building new greenfield solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with research scientists, hardware engineers, and cross-functional teams in quantum computing.
  • Drive technical roadmaps and influence engineering decisions across multiple teams and locations.
  • Support documentation, technical writing, and internal knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of software development experience, focused on distributed computing.
  • 3+ years in a technical leadership role managing engineering design and implementation.
  • 2+ years in people management or team leadership roles;
  • Strong experience in client-side development including APIs, CLIs, web interfaces, or client libraries.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, Cloud Spanner).
  • Experience with Kubernetes and distributed systems.
  • Experience designing gRPC APIs.
  • Experience building and maintaining client interfaces (web UI, CLI tools, SDKs).
  • Familiarity with quantum computing concepts and systems.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Salary range: $207,000 – $301,000 per year.
  • Bonus target up to 20% plus equity and additional benefits.

  • Paid time off: 20 vacation days annually (increasing with tenure).
  • Sick leave: 40–69 hours per year depending on location, plus discretionary sick days.
