Job Description

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Location: Los Angeles (On Site)

The Quantum Biology Institute, a non-profit organization, is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead operations and advance its mission: to perform the foundational research necessary to seed the field of quantum biology. The institute is dedicated to conducting basic research and openly releasing all findings to support the growth of the field.

The CEO will collaborate closely with the board of directors to provide leadership, ensure scientific success, and secure the long-term sustainability of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all operations to align with the institute’s mission and scientific roadmap
• Drive research success in establishing or refuting the quantum-to-biology connection
• Build and maintain a high-performing organizational culture and manage staff performance
• Develop and communicate a long-term vision for the institute;
• Secure financial sustainability, including direct execution of fundraising strategies
• Manage external relationships with funders, collaborators, partners, and sponsors
• Represent the institute to stakeholders and ensure organizational growth

Qualifications:

• Background in quantum physics, biology, or a closely related technical field
• Proven experience managing technical and non-technical teams in fast-paced environments
• Previous C-suite or equivalent leadership experience;
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, particularly in the non-profit sector
• Strong negotiation, mediation, and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to balance scientific oversight with organizational strategy
