Responsibilities:
- Own QuLattice's technical vision, strategy, architecture, and engineering execution.
- Lead development of the core software stack, including fault-tolerant quantum compilers, real-time syndrome decoders, and lattice-surgery simulation engines.
- Translate advances in quantum error correction and topological quantum codes into robust, high-performance software.
- Define software architecture, technical standards, CI/CD pipelines, benchmarking suites, and engineering practices.
- Build, mentor, and lead a technical team covering quantum information science, compiler engineering, and high-performance computing.
- Establish a rigorous, collaborative, and mission-driven engineering culture.
- Partner with the founding team on company strategy, milestones, and resource allocation;
- Contribute directly to fundraising through investor pitches, technical due diligence, grant applications, and deep-tech funding opportunities.
- Build relationships with quantum hardware providers, research institutions, and national quantum initiatives.
- Represent QuLattice as a technical leader at conferences and within the quantum computing ecosystem.
- Oversee patent filings, intellectual property strategy, and selected scientific publications.
- Help bridge quantum theory, including topological codes, stabilizer formalism, and syndrome decoding, with high-performance software engineering.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Quantum Information Science, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
- At least 1 year of postdoctoral research experience focused directly on quantum computing.
- Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of quantum error-correcting codes, including surface codes, LDPC codes, and topological codes.
- Strong knowledge of syndrome decoders, including graph-based decoders, belief propagation (BP), and ordered statistics decoding (OSD).

- Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of quantum hardware, particularly FPGA-based systems.
- Knowledge of machine learning, especially graph neural networks (GNNs) and convolutional neural networks (CNNs).
- Experience with quantum simulations, tensor networks, quantum circuit compilation, or decoding routines.
- Experience working with early-stage startups or deep-tech ventures.
- Experience with quantum hardware-software co-design.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Salary: $85,000 to $120,000 per year.
- Substantial founding equity stake commensurate with a co-founder role.
- Direct ownership of the technical backbone of a fault-tolerant quantum computing company;
- Full authority over technology stack selection, hiring decisions, and engineering methodology.
- Opportunity to work directly with the founding team and shape the company's technical direction.
Eligibility and Work Authorization:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
