Network Orchestration Engineer - Quantum

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Network Orchestration Engineer – Quantum Networking. Location: Bothell, Washington, Vista, California

This role focuses on designing and operating the service layer that connects quantum hardware with classical network infrastructure; You will help manage distributed quantum networking and sensing systems at production scale.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement the high-level service plane for quantum network operations
• Build and manage orchestration workflows to support reliable distributed transactions
• Develop interfaces using standard protocols to connect network devices and services
• Identify system bottlenecks and replace inefficient legacy middleware;
• Create frameworks for state management and job orchestration across distributed resources
• Define and enforce network security practices, including authentication and role-based access control
• Support secure communication protocols such as TLS 1.3 and SSH across the network control plane

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in senior software engineering roles
• Experience working with large-scale distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or backend platforms
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong experience implementing distributed transaction patterns and managing system state
• Proficiency in Python for orchestration and automation;
• Experience with C or C++, Go, or Rust for performance-critical systems
• Hands-on experience with Linux or Unix environments
• Familiarity with containerization and secure remote system management

Preferred:

• Experience with mutual TLS and certificate-based authentication
• Background in building systems with automated rollback and recovery
• Experience with audit logging and tamper-evident data structures
