Job Description
Job Title: Systems Integration Engineer (Field, Quantum Systems). Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers using cryogenic single photon detector systems
- Provide remote and on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
- Perform system installation, calibration, and training for customer deployments
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware and software layers;
- Collaborate with R&D, testing, and manufacturing teams to escalate and resolve system-level problems
- Document customer issues, technical solutions, and support activities
- Improve support workflows, documentation, and troubleshooting procedures
- Develop and maintain knowledge base articles, FAQs, and technical guides
- Stay updated on product upgrades, system features, and industry developments;
- Support continuous improvement of system performance and customer experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong hands-on experience in at least three of the following areas:
- Cryogenics
- High Vacuum Systems
- Optical Metrology
- RF Electronics
- PLC Programming
- Network Architecture
- Experience troubleshooting complex systems involving both hardware and software
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to different audiences
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Willingness to travel for on-site deployments and global customer support
Preferred:
- Experience with full system installations or site surveys in international environments
- Understanding of interactions between RF noise, optical measurements, and cryogenic systems
- Experience in root-cause analysis and contributing design feedback to R&D teams;
- Familiarity with tools such as LabVIEW, Python automation, or CAD visualization tools
- Experience creating technical documentation or training materials
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
- Multilingual communication skills

- Base salary range: $110,336 to $144,459 annually

- Travel requirement: Approximately 70 percent, including international travel
