Job Description
Job Title: DevOps Engineer II. Location: New Haven, CT, USA (Hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Improve platform observability by developing and maintaining logging, monitoring, dashboards, and alerting solutions.
- Manage monitoring tools including Zabbix, OpenSearch, CloudWatch, and Grafana to enhance system visibility and operational reliability.
- Investigate and resolve issues across infrastructure, Kubernetes workloads, cloud services, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support Kubernetes platforms in both on-premises and cloud environments by deploying workloads, troubleshooting issues, and improving reliability.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Troubleshoot and improve the reliability of relational database platforms, including PostgreSQL, MySQL/InnoDB, and Amazon Aurora.
- Maintain hybrid infrastructure across AWS and on-premises environments;
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
- Build, deploy, and troubleshoot Docker-based containerized applications.
- Improve alert quality and reduce unnecessary notifications to strengthen incident response.
- Support internal development platforms and shared infrastructure services.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and infrastructure engineering teams to improve platform reliability.
- Automate operational processes to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across environments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, systems engineering, or a related role.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills in distributed environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Experience working with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized application deployment;
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Zabbix, CloudWatch, OpenSearch, and Grafana.
- Familiarity with relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL/InnoDB, and Amazon Aurora.
- Scripting experience using Python or Bash.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, routing, and firewalls.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving technical environment.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and hardware-integrated systems.
- Knowledge of platform reliability engineering and observability best practices.
- Experience improving infrastructure automation.
- Interest in expanding expertise in Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and platform reliability.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Base salary: $126,000 to $172,000 USD per year (New Haven market).

- Report to the DevOps Engineering Manager.
