DevSecOps Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior DevSecOps Engineer. Location: Remote, United States

This role focuses on building and improving DevSecOps pipelines, cloud native platforms, and security practices across the full software development lifecycle; The engineer will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to strengthen application security, automate compliance, and protect mission critical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for security best practices within the DevOps team
  • Promote a culture of security, automation, and continuous improvement through mentoring
  • Integrate security controls across every stage of the software development lifecycle
  • Manage DAST, IAST, and SAST tools to identify and remediate vulnerabilities;
  • Automate security testing and compliance checks within DevOps workflows
  • Perform Docker image security scanning and container vulnerability management
  • Develop and enforce policy as code for Kubernetes environments;
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code solutions for cloud and on premises systems
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to improve security posture
  • Continuously evaluate and improve DevSecOps tools, processes, and standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field
  • 5 or more years of experience integrating security into CI CD pipelines and the software lifecycle
  • 3 or more years of hands on experience deploying and securing Kubernetes clusters in production
  • Strong experience with policy as code frameworks such as OPA Gatekeeper or Kyverno
  • Proven experience with DAST, IAST, and SAST tools;
  • 5 or more years of Docker image security scanning and container security experience
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Helm, or Ansible
  • Expert level experience with Linux
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and their security best practices
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
  • Experience creating executive level security reports and KPIs
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and incident response skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with eBPF
  • Experience with Cilium Tetragon
