Job Description
Job Title: Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Quantum AI. Location: Seattle, Washington, Goleta, California
You will work closely with researchers, product teams, and engineers to support quantum computing systems and infrastructure; This role focuses on building reliable software environments that orchestrate and execute quantum computations as quantum machines evolve from research prototypes into scalable products.
Responsibilities:
- Scope technical problems and recommend solutions for both short term and long term needs.
- Take ownership of engineering goals and contribute to roadmaps that influence other engineers and teams.
- Design and implement systems that build and release core quantum software packages across multiple environments.
- Manage and maintain infrastructure running on team managed Kubernetes nodes;
- Write, review, and maintain high quality code following engineering best practices.
- Contribute to data preparation, optimization, and performance improvements in software systems.
- Seek feedback on technical designs and improve system architecture where needed.
- Build new infrastructure systems or enhance existing platforms when required;
- Contribute to documentation and educational materials related to engineering work.
- Collaborate with research teams, product teams, hardware engineers, electronics engineers, and research scientists.
- Support the development and execution of algorithms on advanced quantum computing systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of software development experience, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with Kubernetes;
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing automated build and deployment systems.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable software infrastructure.
- Ability to work on complex distributed systems and large scale software platforms.
Preferred:
- Experience with build and deployment tools.
- Experience building developer infrastructure systems.
- Familiarity with quantum computing concepts and strong interest in learning more about the field.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Base salary range: 147,000 USD to 211,000 USD per year depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
- Additional compensation may include bonus, equity, and other incentives.
