Job Title: Director, Solutions Architecture – National Security, Worldwide Public Sector Partners. Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States
Job Type: Senior Leadership, Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Lead executive technical strategy across national security and intelligence community customers.
- Serve as executive technical sponsor for strategic programs and large-scale customer portfolios.
- Build and maintain direct relationships with government C-suite leaders, including CIO, CTO, and CDAO level executives.
- Represent AWS at senior government and congressional forums, presenting technical strategy and innovation direction.
- Drive adoption of next-generation architectures, including AI, cloud-native systems, and mission resilience solutions.
- Own technical win strategy in partnership with sales leadership for large-scale programs;
- Influence AWS product roadmaps for classified and air-gapped environments.
- Lead a large solutions architecture organization with 40+ cleared professionals, including managers and principal architects.
- Define organizational goals, metrics, and execution strategy aligned with $1.5B+ revenue targets.
- Manage operational rhythms such as monthly reviews, quarterly business reviews, and annual planning.
- Develop mechanisms for scalable technical excellence, including architecture reviews and reusable reference designs.
- Build and sustain cleared technical talent pipelines.
- Mentor senior engineers and support leadership development across the organization.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in IT, cloud computing, or defense and intelligence technology leadership.
- 8+ years of people management experience, including managing managers.
- Experience leading large technical organizations in classified or secure environments.
- Strong background in executive engagement at government or enterprise C-suite level;
- Experience driving strategy for large-scale programs exceeding $500M in scope.
- Public speaking experience at government or industry forums.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in AI, machine learning, cloud modernization, or national security technology.
- Background across intelligence domains such as GEOINT, HUMINT, or SIGINT.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MBA (or equivalent experience).
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional or Security Specialty;
- Experience in strategic capture or technical solutioning for defense or intelligence programs.
- Experience influencing product roadmaps at major cloud or technology providers.
- Experience building and scaling cleared technical talent pipelines.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Base salary range: $241,200 – $326,400 USD annually.
- Additional compensation includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
