NPI Materials Program Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Senior NPI Materials Program Manager. Location: Milpitas, California, United States

The position plays a critical role in ensuring on-time delivery and cost-effective scaling of quantum hardware systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with key technology suppliers
  • Manage and oversee material readiness for pre-alpha, alpha, pre-beta, and beta builds
  • Project manage specific engineering builds and coordinate with internal teams;
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers in collaboration with engineering
  • Track component availability, shortages, and risks across the supply chain
  • Expedite critical parts to meet engineering and program milestones
  • Analyze make-versus-buy decisions for internal builds versus supplier outsourcing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field
  • 10 years of experience in supply chain roles within a technology-driven company, or 15 years total supply chain experience
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting New Product Introduction programs
  • Strong experience in supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost management
  • Proven ability to scale small or early-stage supply chains;
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated business judgment when balancing technical and commercial trade-offs

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with cryogenic systems, electro-optical assemblies, or semiconductor wafer manufacturing
  • Background working with advanced hardware development teams

Compensation and Benefits:

  • U.S. Base Pay Range: $130,000 to $145,000 USD
  • Bay Area Pay Range: $155,000 to $170,000 USD

Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and business needs. Base pay is one part of a total compensation package.
