Quantum Systems Engineer - Computing

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quantum Systems Engineer – Quantum Computing. Location: Remote, United States -Santa Clara, California - Redmond, Washington

This role focuses on building and defining system-level solutions that enable fault-tolerant quantum computing; You will work across hardware, software, and firmware while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to define system requirements for fault-tolerant quantum computing
Work with external partners to align technical and system requirements
Develop new approaches for real-time quantum error correction and calibration
Perform detailed systems analysis across different qubit modalities;
Translate product requirements into technical specifications across hardware, software, and firmware
Develop and review test cases to ensure accuracy, completeness, and performance
Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and strong technical problem solving

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of post-bachelor’s experience working on complex hardware and software systems
Strong hands-on experience with real qubits and quantum control systems software;
Experience engineering across multiple parts of an integrated hardware and software system
Strong interest in advancing quantum computing technologies into production systems

Preferred:

Experience designing quantum control systems, including communication and networking components
Experience developing real-time systems and embedded software
Knowledge of benchmarking methods for quantum computers;
Experience applying AI and machine learning techniques
Experience working with CUDA and NVIDIA GPUs
