Job Description

Job Title: Senior Research Scientist, Atom Array Modeling, Quantum AI. Location: Goleta, CA, San Francisco, CA, Mountain View, CA, Los Angeles, CA, USA

Responsibilities:

• Develop atom array error models for Quantum Error Correction circuit simulations and resource estimation.
• Model and simulate atomic motion during atom array transport while accounting for environmental noise and hardware limitations.
• Develop software for numerical simulation and analysis of atom array operations, including quantum gates and transport.
• Create physically realistic noise models to support quantum error correction simulations;
• Analyze and forecast the potential capabilities of large scale quantum computers.
• Design experiments and prototype implementations to support hardware and system development.
• Publish research findings in scientific conferences, journals, and public repositories.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external research institutions worldwide.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of research experience in quantum information science or quantum technology.
• Experience developing software for numerical simulation, modeling, or data analysis;
• At least one scientific publication submitted to recognized conferences, journals, or public repositories.

Preferred:

• Experience with modeling and simulation of atom array transport.
• Knowledge of optimal control theory;
• Strong understanding of theoretical atomic and optical physics.
• Familiarity with quantum information theory.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base salary range: $166,000 to $244,000 per year (US roles).
• Additional compensation may include bonus, equity, and benefits.
• Final compensation depends on location, skills, experience, and education.
