Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Hardware Engineer, Center for Quantum Computing (Device Team). Location: Pasadena, CA, USA
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to hardware development within a multi-disciplinary quantum computing team including physicists, engineers, and materials scientists.
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to support accelerated learning initiatives.
- Execute scientific measurements under established testing standards with high precision.
- Build, run, and debug automated measurement sequences.
- Streamline system integration processes and improve throughput;
- Maintain and operate laboratory instruments independently.
- Produce clear, accurate, and detailed technical documentation.
- Support optimization of experimental workflows and hardware performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or R.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience with measurement tools and devices such as oscilloscopes and frequency analyzers.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Experience working with cryogenic systems.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Salary range: $122,600 – $160,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and location).
