Job Description
Job Title: Research Scientist, Calibration and Control Schemes, Quantum AI. Location: Los Angeles, CA, Goleta, CA, USA
The role focuses on quantum error correction circuits, tunable two-qubit gates, and precision calibration methods to support scalable quantum computing; The goal is to help build a fault-tolerant quantum computer capable of solving classically intractable problems.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with quantum computing and hardware implementation
- Experience programming in Python
Preferred:
- Experience working with complex workflows in a collaborative lab environment
- Experience calibrating quantum gates and control pulses
- Experience in quantum control
Responsibilities:
- Define data structures, research frameworks, system design approaches, and evaluation metrics for solution development under minimal guidance
- Identify project timelines and secure necessary resources
- Conduct experiments based on defined research questions
- Develop research prototypes or perform simulations to validate hypotheses and refine research methodologies
- Develop calibration protocols for Quantum Error Correction (QEC) circuits;
- Implement scalable tunable two-qubit gates using simultaneous microwave and exchange coupling control
- Characterize and analyze errors in superconducting qubits, including stray couplings and leakage
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary range: $141,000 – $202,000 per year
- Additional compensation includes bonus, equity, and benefits
- Salary is determined by role, level, location, experience, and job-related skills;
