Job Description
Job Title: Research Scientist, Quantum Computing and AI – New College Grad 2026. Location: Santa Clara, CA, USA
This role focuses on expanding AI efforts in quantum computation and developing advanced algorithms for simulating quantum systems; Candidates will collaborate with internal and external teams to push the boundaries of GPU-accelerated quantum research.
Responsibilities:
- Train AI models for inference on quantum systems, hardware, and control.
- Conduct novel research to advance the state-of-the-art in quantum simulation (both approximate and exact).
- Develop research prototypes that pave the way for future GPU-accelerated quantum tools.
- Explore the use of GPUs as research tools for quantum sciences;
- Publish original research and present at conferences, workshops, and seminars.
- Collaborate with external researchers and diverse internal product teams to integrate research insights.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, PyTorch, JAX, and/or CUDA.
- Prior publications in AI for quantum science or accelerated quantum simulations.
- Highly self-motivated, creative, and passionate about research;
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in research teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including experience presenting technical work at academic or industry events.
