Job Description

Job Title: Research AI Engineer Intern 2027. Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, USA

Job Type: Internship, Entry Level, On-site

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to design, prototype, and implement AI solutions.
  • Work with large language models (LLMs), multimodal models, and agentic frameworks to solve real-world use cases.
  • Design, build, and maintain AI agent frameworks and platforms for scalable orchestration, tool integration, and autonomous task execution.
  • Develop experimental demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and integrations that showcase the value of AI;
  • Contribute to AI tools and platforms that improve how AI systems are developed and deployed.
  • Work with engineers, researchers, and product managers to translate advanced AI techniques into practical enterprise and user-facing applications.
  • Stay current with recent AI research and propose ways to apply new methods to practical solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with the internship suited to MS/PhD students.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong programming skills in Python;
  • Familiarity with machine learning fundamentals, natural language processing, and generative AI.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Understanding of MLOps concepts, including model deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
  • Previous experience with open-source contributions, AI research projects, or AI-related hackathons.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Projected annualized compensation range of $89,280 to $163,680.
  • Eligible supplemental employees may receive up to 8 paid holidays.
  • Minimum of 56 hours of paid sick time.

Other Information:

  • Work arrangement: On-site.
  • No travel is required.
  • Internship is a fixed-term co-op position;
  • The position is expected to remain posted for 15 days from September 11, 2026, or less if the position is filled sooner.
