Job Description
Job Title: SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager. Location: US Remote / Broomfield, Colorado, USA
Job Type: Full-time (Remote with location-based expectations)
Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation, review, and filing of SEC reports including 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and proxy statements.
- Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, US GAAP, and financial disclosure requirements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to collect and validate financial reporting data.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and SOX 404 requirements;
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and SEC regulations and update reporting practices accordingly.
- Provide guidance and training to junior team members on SEC reporting and disclosure standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline financial reporting processes.
- Conduct technical accounting research for complex transactions including revenue recognition, leases, equity transactions, and business combinations.
- Prepare technical accounting memos and documentation for audit and compliance purposes;
- Develop and maintain accounting policies aligned with regulatory standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 6+ years of combined public accounting and high-tech industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements;
- Experience with internal control frameworks and SOX compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for technical accounting issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines;
- Experience collaborating with external auditors and cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- CPA certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Workiva;
- Strong ability to translate complex accounting concepts for non-finance stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
