Job Title: Buyer – Quantum Hardware. Location: Pasadena, CA, USA

The AWS Center for Quantum Computing is hiring a Buyer to support research and development procurement for its cutting-edge quantum computing initiatives; The Buyer will work with finance, legal, import/export, and engineering teams to manage purchasing and procurement needs, helping AWS deliver scalable quantum solutions to global customers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage procurement for hardware like heavy machinery, testing equipment, lab supplies, and vacuum systems
• Handle RFPs, RFIs, contract negotiations, and purchase orders;
• Work with cross-functional teams including legal, import/export, and development teams
• Negotiate NDAs and coordinate with global vendors and partners;
• Improve procurement processes and contribute to operational scalability
• Create and present procurement metrics and data insights to senior leaders
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders, including senior executives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement or operations
• Familiarity with procurement systems and financial tools;
• Experience managing process improvements and operational projects
• Ability to present data clearly and drive decisions with metrics

Preferred:

• Master’s degree
• Experience with long-term procurement and technology supply chain agreements
• Skills in scripting or programming and basic database querying
