Senior Architect

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Architect. Location: Remote (US – California, Massachusetts)

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert, engaging with internal teams, external stakeholders, customers, and users.
  • Design developer tools, APIs, and workflows for chemistry and materials science applications.
  • Collaborate across research, engineering, product, and partnerships to shape software direction.
  • Define and prioritize features for NVIDIA ALCHEMI and related software platforms;
  • Translate advances in machine learning interatomic potentials, generative modeling, and quantum chemistry into product strategies.
  • Gather and synthesize input from researchers, partners, and internal teams to guide product decisions.
  • Represent the organization at scientific conferences, workshops, and industry events.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in computational chemistry, materials science, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience building AI or machine learning software for chemistry or materials science applications.
  • Strong experience with GPU-accelerated computing and modern machine learning frameworks;
  • Deep knowledge of machine learning interatomic potentials, generative modeling, and quantum chemistry workflows.
  • Experience architecting scientific software, developer platforms, or technical products.
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred:

  • High-impact publications in AI for chemistry, molecular modeling, or materials discovery.
  • Experience with CUDA, parallel programming, or performance-focused software development.
  • Experience leading software or product development in fast-paced technical environments.
  • Contributions to open-source software in simulation, chemistry, or materials science.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Base salary range: $224,000 – $356,500 per year, depending on experience and location.
  • Eligibility for equity and additional benefits;
