Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer, Compiling, Quantum AI. Location: Mountain View, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Goleta, CA, USA

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement software systems for compiling logical quantum computations into low-level fault-tolerant programs.
• Develop compiler infrastructure that supports execution of quantum error-corrected computations;
• Integrate quantum compiler systems into the qubit control stack in collaboration with hardware and software teams.
• Work closely with research scientists on early implementations of fault-tolerant quantum computing;
• Contribute to robust software engineering practices and maintain high code quality for Quantum Error Correction systems.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including electronics engineers, hardware engineers, and researchers.
• Participate in system-level design discussions for scalable quantum computing architectures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 3 years of experience with C++ and Python.
• Experience designing and developing complex software systems.

Preferred:

• Experience with compiler development or compiler architecture (IRs, optimization pipelines, backend compilation).
• Knowledge of logic synthesis and minimization techniques.
• Experience with high-performance computing, real-time systems, or hardware-accelerated computing.
• Familiarity with graph algorithms such as weighted perfect matching;
• Experience with FPGA, DSP, or GPU programming.
• Understanding of quantum computing concepts, quantum error correction, or classical coding theory.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary range: $147,000 to $211,000 per year (depending on location and experience).
