Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineering Manager, Engineering Productivity, Quantum AI. Location: Mountain View, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Goleta, CA; Seattle, WA

As a Software Engineering Manager in Engineering Productivity, you will provide technical leadership, manage a team of engineers, and develop scalable and secure infrastructure to advance quantum computing research and applications.

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical strategy and define long-term goals for quantum research and development platforms.
• Mentor and coach engineers to help them grow professionally and technically;
• Collaborate across teams to gather user requirements and translate them into a clear technical roadmap.
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable infrastructure solutions to improve development velocity, reliability, and security.
• Oversee code quality by reviewing contributions and ensuring adherence to best practices in style, testing, and performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software development using one or more languages (Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3+ years of experience building tools that improve development speed, code health, or code quality.
• 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role managing projects;
• 2+ years of experience in team leadership or people management.

Preferred:

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in a cross-functional organization;
• Experience with Kubernetes, Bazel, Cloud Build, Gerrit, and Git.
• Proven ability to manage large, distributed teams and oversee deployment of large-scale projects.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary range: $197,000–$291,000, depending on location and experience.
• Additional compensation: bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits package;
• Benefits include healthcare, retirement plans, and other perks offered by Google.
