Job Title: Student Researcher, BS/MS, Fall 2025. Location: Multiple locations in the United States including - Mountain View (CA), Ann Arbor (MI), Atlanta (GA), Austin (TX), Cambridge (MA), Chicago (IL), Irvine (CA), Kirkland (WA), Los Angeles (CA), Madison (WI), New York (NY), Palo Alto (CA), Princeton (NJ), Pittsburgh (PA), San Bruno (CA), Seattle (WA), San Francisco (CA), Sunnyvale (CA), and Washington D.C.
This opportunity is open to students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Natural Sciences; The role is flexible in duration and location, depending on project and host needs.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to ongoing research projects focused on large-scale real-world problems.
- Collaborate with Google researchers and engineers on cutting-edge topics such as AI, Machine Learning, Quantum Information Science, and Computer Vision.
- Explore new methodologies, optimize algorithms, and help advance the state of the art in computing.
- Participate in scientific publication, experimentation, and model evaluation efforts;
- Maintain clear communication and documentation of research findings.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Natural Sciences, or related technical fields;
- Hands-on experience in at least one major area of computer science (Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Quantum Information Science, Computer Vision, Data Science, etc.);
- Strong coding skills in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
- Must be located in the United States during the entire engagement period.
- Proficiency in English for collaboration across global teams.
Preferred:
- Returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
- Experience conducting research through internships, labs, or full-time work;
- Contributions to academic research communities, including papers or presentations.
- Understanding of quantum-related concepts, AI systems, and algorithm optimization.

Compensation: The U.S. base salary range for this role is $92,000–$122,000, depending on location, education, & experience; This does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
