Job Description
Job Title: Staff Network Engineer. Location: Remote, United States
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain complex AWS networking environments, including VPCs, subnets, routing, and security groups.
- Manage AWS Direct Connect links and Site-to-Site VPN connectivity for remote locations.
- Administer and troubleshoot Cisco production networking infrastructure.
- Design and support Kubernetes networking, including ingress, egress, load balancing, and BGP service distribution.
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot BGP and OSPF routing protocols;
- Collaborate with IT and product teams to automate network provisioning and infrastructure management.
- Promote infrastructure-as-code practices for network deployment and maintenance.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on networking initiatives.
- Ensure network security, compliance, and operational best practices.
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement reliable solutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional experience in cloud and on-premises network administration.
- Advanced expertise with AWS networking, including VPCs, Direct Connect, and VPNs.
- Extensive experience with Cisco networking hardware and protocols.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts;
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Knowledge of DevOps automation practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Familiarity with Cilium CNI.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust networking principles.
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking certification.
- Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification.
- CKA, CKAD, or Cilium Certified Associate (CCA) certification.
- Experience designing and supporting hybrid or multi-cloud networking architectures.
